We've already seen Media Create's top-selling games of 2010 list, but one game -- Monster Hunter Portable 3rd -- was conspicuously absent from despite its reported high sales. This new list from ASCII includes that game as well as the 2010 rankings in terms of hardware sales. So, how well did it and its platform do?
 

 Very well, apparently. Even though it was only released in December 2010, ASCII's sales figures put Monster Hunter Portable 3rd in second place behind the Pokemon twins, Black & White. Black & White's numbers are not that much lower compared to Media Create's figures, but as ASCII tallied it New Super Mario Bros. Wii only moved 1,692,401 units compared to Media Create's reported sales of 4,043,637.

 Here's the ten top-selling games in Japan for the year 2010 according to ASCII. It's worth noting that the list is dominated by handheld titles, mostly the DS. There aren't any PS3 or Xbox 360 titles here, and the Wii is the only home console with a game included in the list.
